1 Valuing Time
Think about John Armstrong's morning routine. Every part of his day, every little step, was complicated. Why could that make it hard to jump in and get your day started? How did this quote help him get moving? This left him with very little time in each day. He had to be clear about how he spent it. What do you think were his priorities in how he spent the time left? Refer back to your self circles. What does this mean for how you spend your time each day? Priority Lists: Needs, Wants, Important Wants Does your list match how you really spend your time? What could you start doing now? What will be easy and hard about this? 3 Do what is right for yourself.

You are going to spend most of your time being older, by a lot. Let's check out the pbs site to the right. What does this mean for you now? Review the job lists to the right. What fits you? What might fit you? You can also find your way with something other than these - but it will likely be different than you had planned and should be something that you truly value because it will take a ton of work and you will go through tough times. The 6 Levels can serve as a guide. 5 You have a responsibility to do something.
There are tough times in middle and high school for sure. But being a teenager is temporary. You will spend a lot more time being older. That is what you are preparing and making choices for. Think about your self circle map and what really makes you special. Don't loose those just to impress somebody. Don't loose those because of a choice you made for something you want now. Your childhood can be a time that gets you ready for an adult life that you value and is fulfilling. You will have to make careful choices and work through many mistakes, but you can take any path you want for your life. You will have to think about what kind of friends are good for you - and then go and find them. You will have think about how to use your time and then do it, every day. Some of your time will be taken up by the way life is, different amounts for all of you, much of it unfair. How you act during that time, and how you spend your time that's left is your choice. |
