chuck close
Many of Chuck Close's works take years to make. He is big on process. He also frequently lays out his work with grids or arrays. These make him a great artist through which to teach planning.
Our first lesson, we look at grids and discuss why they are a useful tool. Next we look through Close's work and talk about color choice, mood, and organization. Finally, students choose their own subject to compose with a grid and they plan their own work. |
