Write the date in your life skills journal. We have been talking about finding long term friends: friends that you trust and want to have around for years. However, those long term friends will only want to be friends with you if you are trustworthy and make good choices. I have good news: if you aren't already like that, you are only about 10 years old. You have time to change your reputation. That's what you will be writing about today: reputations.
1. Look at Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Bad friendships might meet your Social needs, but not your Esteem needs. How is that true?
2. Look at the Kholberg's Levels of Moral Development poster. Where do you think you would have to be in order to have a reputation that made people trust you?
3. If someone has a bad reputation, what kinds of things can they do to change it? Be specific. How long do you think it takes before their reputation changes?
